PLEEZ INVITES THE PUBLIC TO ITS OFFICIAL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (SEPTEMBER 17, 2015) - PLEEZ, Downtown Highland Park's newest restaurant, bar and live entertainment venue, invites the public to celebrate its official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday September 17th, from 4-5 pm. PLEEZ join owner Steve Schwartz, the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce and City officials, as they welcome this new business to the community. Guests will enjoy bites from the new contemporary American menu, sips of their award winning Cucumber Cooler, that was recently voted Best Cocktail at the 2015 Port Clinton Art Fair, musical stylings of Matt Fedderman and complimentary Tarot Card readings.

"We are so PLEEZED to be a part of the Highland Park community," says Schwartz, who opened PLEEZ five months ago and is proud to introduce his new chef, menu and weekly entertainment, giving customers exactly what they want.

PLEEZ, a contemporary American restaurant, bar & lounge with live entertainment every Friday night (and special performances on select Saturday's), opened its doors in the former VIBE at 1935 location. Having underwent a complete renovation, visitors now experience an entirely new layout with modern design and style, full-serve dining, bar and lounge areas, and entertainment stage. In addition to the revamped menu, guests will now experience a new state of the art sound system, acoustical tiles to absorb noise for a more pleasant dining experience, Happy Hour on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 5-7pm, and in addition to live music on the weekends, music lovers can enjoy acoustic performances on Wednesday nights from 6-8 pm.

Advertising executive turned restaurant owner, Steve Schwartz, understood that being in the restaurant business required "PLEEZ'ing" people at every turn. The name PLEEZ is based on that concept and his desire to give customers what they want. As owner, he mingles with guests daily, asking their opinions on dishes and also their overall feedback on the inner workings of his restaurant.

Schwartz is proud to collaborate with Chef Juan Ortega, putting new twists on signature dishes. With his concentration on the pure flavor of the ingredients, Ortega creates freshly made in-house salad dressings, sauces, and hand-crafted dough for their light and crispy flatbreads, and more. "I capture the essence of the natural flavors, so we don't have to dress things up," says Ortega.

"Juan cooks with his heart and passion and it translates into his food," says Schwartz. "He takes casual dining to another level when creating homemade exquisite dishes and knows how to run a dynamic kitchen." With a full menu that ranges from skirt steak, pan seared ahi tuna and seafood salad to pasta primavera and whole roasted Branzino, there's something to PLEEZ everyone.

Ortega held previous positions at Miramar Bistro in Highwood for 10 years prior to joining PLEEZ and also exercised his culinary skills at Lucky Fish and Grill. Ortega specializes in seafood and chicken dishes and bakes his own desserts.

While PLEEZ offers top-notch entertainment, and the best libations, creative cocktails, craft beers and signature wine selection for adults, it's also an excellent full-service restaurant with a complete children's menu. They have the capacity for corporate and special events for groups of 75-100 people and offer 30% discounts to fire, police, hospitality, and other service businesses on industry and uniform nights. Additionally, PLEEZ will soon be open for lunch with a wonderful new menu!

"I've put a lot of planning- and re-planning into this restaurant," says Schwartz, "I wanted to create a place where I was able to eat, drink, and listen to great music without having to travel all the way to the city and will continue working hard to make this the perfect destination for our community!"

In addition to chef Ortega, PLEEZ boasts an excellent manager to ensure perfect dining details. Manager, Roger DeVito says his role at PLEEZ is a simple one - to ensure that each and every guest has a memorable and unique experience. With over 15 years experience leading and directing establishments such as The Redhead Piano Bar, Magnums Prime Steak House & White Star and Green Dolphin Street, Roger is equipped to bring the best out of PLEEZ.

The PLEEZ team's motto is simple: Come for the food, stay for the music, return for the positive customer experience.
