Take your fitness routine to Schaumburg Tennis Plus

Suspension training, indoor cycling, Zumba and BodyPump are among the classes available at the Schaumburg Park District's newest fitness studio.

Fall classes are underway at Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road, where a new fitness studio was completed in July. The fitness lineup includes the District's recently added class-TRX Suspension Training-a program that uses durable straps and webbing to provide a total body workout. Introductory-level TRX classes are being offered for free throughout September at STP.

"TRX has been growing in popularity the last few years," said Alyssa Danca, fitness supervisor. "Instead of using a traditional piece of resistance equipment, such as a dumbbell, the TRX straps allow participants to utilize their own body weight as resistance."

Upcoming free TRX classes at STP include:

• Mondays, noon-12:45 p.m.

• Wednesdays, noon-12:45 p.m. and 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Starting in October, TRX participants may purchase a class pass, allowing them to attend 10 classes. Passes are $65 for residents and $80 for non-residents. A drop-in rate also is available at $8 per class for residents and $10 per class for non-residents.

The pass also is available for Indoor Cycling at STP and the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

"We're excited to be offering fitness classes at STP," Danca said. "We have brand new bikes, so that's also exciting. We're just hoping to reach more participants."

Upcoming Indoor Cycling classes at STP include:

• Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m. and noon-12:45 p.m.

• Thursdays, Noon-12:45 p.m.
