At some point, we have to say 'enough'
While reading the article about the immigration shift in this country in the Sunday edition of the Daily Herald, it occurred to me that even though we, as a whole, are basically a charitable people to those in need, at some point, we have to say, close the door.
According to the article, the three main countries we are receiving the most immigrants from, legal and illegal, are Mexico, India and China. Does anyone besides me see that these countries are already drastically overcrowded, and our do-nothing politicians allowing them to continue to come here will eventually turn this country into a drastically overcrowded Third World nation also?
When do we say enough is enough? And who will say it?
The employment statistics for our country do not give the true picture or amount of unemployed Americans. All Washington can see are more votes to keep themselves in office at the next election cycle.
I am at an age where, for me, all this immigration will not have an immediate impact, but for my kids and my grandkids, it will definitely have a major impact, and unless our self-serving politicians, local or congressional, get off their lead bottoms, this country as we know it today, will no longer exist.
