Christ Community Mennonite Church installs new pastor

Illinois Conference Minister Michael Danner will install Amy Aschilman at Christ Community Mennonite Church at the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Sept. 6. A potluck meal will follow the service.

Aschilman obtained a Master of Arts degree in teaching English and special education and spent six years as a literacy educator in Chicago Public Schools and City Colleges of Chicago. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary, a school affiliated with the United Church of Christ, in 2014. She has interned with Epiphany United Church of Christ in Chicago and attended patients as a chaplain intern at Rush University Medical Center.

Aschilman is excited and honored to continue living into her call at Christ Community Mennonite Church in Schaumburg.

She grew up in a Mennonite context and is currently seeking licensure/ordination in Mennonite Church USA.

Aschilman was a guest preacher at Christ Community Mennonite Church for the past year. During this first year of pastoring at Christ Community Mennonite Church, she will also serve as a chaplain at Advocate-Trinity hospital in Chicago.

The church is at 888 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.
