Night life events: El Tapeo rolls out new happy hour specials

El Tapeo's happy hour

Get happy at El Tapeo with new happy hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Specials include half-price bottles of wine (under $90) Mondays; half off bottle and draft beers Tuesdays; half off signature cocktails Wednesdays; and half off wines by the glass Thursdays. Daily tapas offerings include aceitunas, croquetas de bacalao, croquetas de setas and pimientos for $5 each. Can't make the early happy hour? Downtown Elgin's first Fridays

Join Downtown Elgin's first Fridays event starting at 5 p.m. Sept. 4 for an evening of special events, promotions and live entertainment in downtown restaurants, bars, art galleries and performance venues. Peggy Kinnane's trivia night

Make sure your brain is turned on for Peggy Kinnane's trivia night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays. There will be prizes for the top three winners. If you'd rather just hang out, the bar offers a whiskey flight, which includes four shots of premium whiskey for $20.
