Buy peanuts from Kiwanis in Palatine

The Palatine Kiwanis Club will hold its 55th annual Peanut Day fundraiser Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26.

Kiwanis members and their "Peanut Partners," local organizations that will receive a portion of the money contributed, will be selling peanuts on street corners and in shopping centers.

Kiwanis annually distributes more than $20,000 to local charities and organizations and worthy projects. Two college scholarships totaling $4,000 are awarded each year to graduating seniors at Fremd and Palatine high schools.

In addition, the club and its junior high school partner, the Sundling Builders Club, provide food baskets for needy families for the holidays, parties for shut-in senior citizens, and, with the Palatine Jaycees, an annual Christmas Party for needy children.
