Images: Top NL Cy Young contenders to Cubs' pitcher Jake Arrieta

Even with his no-hit effort against the Los Angeles Dodgers and 17 wins to lead the majors, Cubs starter Jake Arrieta doesn't lead ESPN's Cy Young predictor rankings. Those rankings give additional points to players on division-leading teams, and the Cubs are third in the NL Central.

Arrieta is 17-3 on the season with a 2.11 ERA and 190 strikeouts in 166.5 innings.

Here's a look at the other contenders for the National League Cy Young Award:

Trevor Rosenthal: The 25-year-old St. Louis Cardinals righty reliever has a 1.52 ERA in 59.1 innings with 68 strikeouts and 41 saves. Associated Press
Mark Melancon: The 30-year-old reliever for the Pittsburgh Pirates has pitched 63 innings and posted a 1.71 ERA in 63 innings with 44 strikeouts and 43 saves. Associated Press
Michael Wacha: The ace for the Cardinals, he has posted a 15-4 record with a 2.69 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 157.1 innings. Associated Press
Clayton Kershaw: The three-time Cy Young winner for the Dodgers is 11-6 this season with 236 strikeouts in 185 innings and a 2.24 ERA Associated Press
Madison Bumgarner: A World Series star for the San Francisco Giants, he is 16-6 with a 2.97 ERA and 192 strikeouts in 175.2 innings. Associated Press
Jeurys Familia: The New York Mets 25-year-old reliever has 35 saves and 68 strikeouts in 64.2 innings pitched, with a 1.67 ERA. Associated Press
Gerrit Cole: This 24-year-old Pittsburgh Pirates starter has a 15-7 record and 2.44 ERA with 166 strikeouts in 169.2 innings. Associated Press
Jacob deGrom: In just his second season, the New York Mets right-hander is 12-7 with a 2.32 ERA and 171 strikeouts in 163 innings. Associated Press
