Pallan leads Barrington past Lake Zurich

For the third straight game, Hans Pallan scored a goal - and for a third straight time, Barrington's boys soccer team was a winner.

The Broncos improved to 3-0-0 this fall by topping Lake Zurich 1-0 on Monday night in the opening round of the tournament hosted by Barrington.

Pallan's winner came in the 75th minute with an assist from Zach Carbanara.

Barrington goalkeeper Alex Ruffalo earned his second clean sheet of the season by making 7 stops.

Barrington (3-0, 1-0) next meets Marmion Academy at 7 p.m. Wednesday. On the same day, Lake Zurich (1-2, 0-1) will take on Rockford Boylan at 5 p.m. on the back fields at Barrington.

Lyons 3, Buffalo Grove 1: Collin Dekorsi scored for the Bison, but it wasn't enough in New Trier tournament play.
