$100,000 bail for Bartlett man accused of cocaine delivery

A 24-year-old Bartlett man has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance after, prosecutors say, he sold seven grams of cocaine on two separate occasions for a total of $600.

William Oliver, of the 1000 block of Stonegate Court, was ordered held on $100,000 bail Monday, said Cook County assistant state's attorney David Shin.

If convicted of the class 1 felony, Oliver would face up to 15 years in prison.

Oliver is accused of first selling the drugs on Feb. 21, after agreeing to the transaction via text message, Shin said. Another transaction for the same amount of drugs and cash took place on March 3, Shin said.

At the time of his arrest, Oliver had a case pending in DuPage County in which he was charged with possession of a controlled substance, Shin said.

In 2009, Oliver received 24 months probation in exchange for a guilty plea to defacing property. That same year, he also received probation for possession of a controlled substance and was subsequently sentenced to four days in jail for violating that probation.

Oliver next appears in court in Sept. 15.
