Lake Forest Civic Orchestra concert

The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra will introduce its new conductor, Robert Nordling, at the "Musical Stories" concert Sunday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. in the newly renovated Gorton Community Center theater, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. In addition to its new conductor, the orchestra will be celebrating its new performance area after an extensive renovation of the Gorton performance space and surrounding areas. At the concert, the orchestra will perform beloved orchestral works inspired by stories, including Beethoven's "Egmont Overture," Ravel's "Mother Goose Suite," and Sibelius' "Symphony No. 2." The repertoire was chosen by Nordling shortly after his selection to lead the orchestra. To purchase tickets online, visit www.lakeforestcivicorchestra.org.
