International Book Club at Prospect Heights Public Library

The International Book Club of the Prospect Heights Library is focusing this year on lives in different social and political situations. We have read such classics as Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov and A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah.

In September, we will read Memory of Love by Aminatta Forna. The story is set in Freetown, Sierra Leon, in 2001, in the aftermath it's civil war. The book seamlessly weaves together the lives of three men to create a story of loss, absolution, indelible effects of the past and the very nature of love. The novel is a work of breathtaking writing and rare wisdom. The book is available at the Circulation Desk of the Prospect Heights Library, 12 North Elm Street. Please pick up the book and join us on the fourth Monday of the month, September 27th, 7:30 p.m.
