Fisher paces Mundelein past Larkin
You'll forgive Mundelein quarterback Colten Fisher if he doesn't answer his phone tomorrow.
After all, not only did he run the equivalent of nearly 4 football fields, he actually played defense in the second half.
That second half helped end Mundelein's lengthy losing streak.
Fisher scored on races of 31, 32, 2, 2 and 65 yards as the Mustangs pulled away from visiting Larkin 49-25.
"I think our last win was my first game as a sophomore,'' Fisher said. "It was great blocking and good conditioning. We really wanted to win."
Mundelein faced adversity in this contest after opening a 24-7 advantage late in the first half.
Larkin and its daring quarterback David Hibbler actually came back to grab a 25-24 lead.
"We gave up the lead,'' said first-year Mundelein coach, Larry Calhoun. "But that might end of being a good thing."
Fisher finished with 367 yards on the ground on 26 carries.
