Grayslake library cards encouraged

Grayslake Area Public Library will be part of a national push to encourage card signup. The American Library Association is behind the designation of September as Library Card Sign-up Month. Grayslake officials stressed a library card is free and allows access to all the materials, information and activities available at the facility. Anyone who signs up for a Grayslake library card for the first time next month will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Adults seeking a card must have two forms of identification with name and address to verify residency. They also must have a photo ID. Children under 14 must be present and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at time of sign up.
