Boys golf: Mueller's 33 paces Libertyville
Jacob Mueller was on fire for Libertyville's boys golf team Thursday.
The junior shot a 2-under-par 33 at Village Green in Mundelein to lead the Wildcats, who carded a 143 in beating Grant (183).
Michael Sefton added a 36 for Libertyville, which also saw George Frangos (37), Mitch Kenston (37) and Michael Watt (39) break 40.
Grant was led by Ricky Flogel's 42.
Mundelein d. Vernon Hills: At Steeple Chase, the Mustangs shot a winning 149 to top the defending North Suburban Conference champs.
Nick Chuma and Brett Parola each fired an even-par 36 for the Mustangs, who also got a 37 from Ryan Magee and 40s from Tyler White and Mikey Nieckula.
Vernon Hills (163) was led by Justin Park, who shot a 39.
Hampshire d. Grayslake North: At Renwood, Adam Baker's 41 paced the Knights (167), who were edged by the Whip-Purs (162) in the Fox Valley Conference match.
Prairie Ridge d. Grayslake Central: At Stonewall Orchard, the visiting Wolves shot a 160 to edge the Rams (162) in Fox Valley Conference action.
Grayslake Central got a 38 from Michael Murdy and a 39 from Kyle Reynolds. Michael Sisk shot a 40 for the Rams.
