Adler center announces new art and music classes

The David Adler Music and Arts Center begins its 2015-16 programming year, and welcomes new students this fall.

"In group classes, students learn the joy of making music with others, making music in a social environment," Program Director Heather Williamson said. "Group music classes can also be a nice, lower-pressure, introduction to your instrument."

Youth can now register for beginner classes in guitar and ukulele. Enrollment for group Guitar and Ukulele is offered on a rolling basis.

Evening classes in abstract, landscape and watercolor painting for both children and adults will begin the week of Sept. 14 and registration is now open.

"We're different. Nowhere else can you have class in a beautiful, historic building like this. It's inspiring," Arts Program Coordinator Tanya Facchini said.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

The David Adler Music and Arts Center is at 1700 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
