Local Motorcycle Touring Club Supports Autism Research

The Des Plaines based Jerseypine Cruisers Motorcycle Touring Club presented a check in the amount of $1,511 to Diane Gedik-Tavolacci and Leo Tavolacci, founders of the Chicago Ride for Autism Speaks charity foundation. The check represented the proceeds from a day of fund raising at the two local Jewel Food Stores augmented by a direct contribution of $500 from the club's members.

This is the fifth consecutive year the Jerseypine Cruisers have donated to the Autism Speaks program. The club has been recognized in each of those five years as a major sponsor of the motorcycle event the Autism charity hosts on the third Sunday of every September.

The Chicago Ride for Autism Speaks will kick off at Fox River Harley Davidson in St. Charles on Sunday, September 20. Riders interested in information about the charity run can go to www.rideforautismspeaks.org/chicago.
