Daily Herald report

Hampshire 2, Marian Central 1: Tyler Koppie scored the go-ahead goal in the second half on an assist from Chip Piazza as the Whip-Purs (1-1) won in nonconference action. Jose Cruz scored off an assist from Koppie in the first half and Jason Polletta had 6 saves in goal for Hampshire.

Elgin Academy 7, Kirkland Hiawatha 0: Julian Romano registered the hat trick to lead the Hilltoppers to a season-opening win in nonconference play. Also scoring for EA were Drew Wilmington, Karl Rauschenberger, Armin Ward and Nick Katherin. David Zuzevitch had 7 saves in goal.

Burlington Central 3, Belvidere North 2: At the DeKalb tournament, Jack Schramme scored twice and had an assist and Luke Schramme hd a goal and an assist to lead the Rockets in their season opener. Danny Hall added an assist for BC while Ryan Fitzgerald made 5 saves and David Murphy had 4 in sharing time in the net.
