Boys soccer: Walker, Grayslake Central roll past Woodstock North

Nicholas Walker scored 3 goals and added 2 assists, as Grayslake Central's boys soccer team blanked Woodstock North 6-0 in Vernon Hills' Cougar Classic on Wednesday.

Ben Sizelove added a pair of goals for the Rams, while Abdiel Espinosa also scored. Leobardo Orozco and Ethan Rockel contributed assists, and David Young made 8 saves in earning the shutout.

Vernon Hills 2, Maine East 0: The Cougars moved to 2-0 in their own Cougar Classic.

Andre Smzyt scored his third goal of the tourney, and Jose Sanchez tallied his second. Joseph Lee assisted on Smzyt's goal. Brennan Reback picked up his first shutout with 3 saves.

Mundelein 6, Grant 0: Herman Portillo had a goal and an assist, helping the Mustangs win their first game of the season.

Mundelein (1-0-1) also got goals from Yann Nsoga, Jony Lucio, Dylan Smith, Jake Fiolka and Victor Casas. Jose Ortega had 2 assists. Kenny Adiyah, Edson Suaste and Bryan Alba also assisted on goals. Mustangs keeper Donnie Kvien made 2 saves in notching the shutout.
