Wheeling to celebrate National Senior Center Month in September

Wheeling will join in the national celebration of senior centers after Village President Dean Argiris Monday signed a proclamation designating September as National Senior Center Month in Wheeling.

Argiris recognized Wheeling's Pavillion Senior Center as a place residents 55 and older can access a variety of resources and activities to enhance their health and well-being.

The Pavillion Senior Center, 199 N. 1st St., offers senior residents health services, parties and singles mingle events, among other services.

The national celebration of senior centers began in 1979 and is spearheaded by the National Institute of Senior Centers.
