September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

What's the most important card in your wallet? The answer might surprise you: it's your library card.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, a time when the Northbrook Public Library joins libraries nationwide in the quest to make sure everyone has a library card. Anyone signing up for a library card during the month of September will receive a small prize and will automatically be entered in the Grand Prize raffle giveaway. But the ultimate prize of signing up for a library card is the unlimited access to the Northbrook Public Library's online resources, books, movies, programs, meeting spaces, and more.

For kids heading back to school, a library card is one of the most important school supplies. With a library card, kids and teens can access numerous databases and other online resources for homework help, writing assistance, practice tests, and more.

Businesses, too, can reap the benefits of having a library card. Any business or company within the incorporated area of Northbrook may be issued a free library card, with which employees can reserve meeting spaces, access professional development resources like Lynda.com, and perform market research.

Whether you want to create something with a 3D printer, check out the latest fiction book, research your ancestors, or download an audiobook to your smartphone for your daily commute, there is truly something for everyone at the Northbrook Public Library, and it's all free with a library card.

The Northbrook Public Library is located at 1201 Cedar Lane. For more information on signing up for a library card, please visit our Circulation Desk on the first floor, call 847-272-6224, or visit www.northbrook.info.
