Show etiquette when walking pets

We are pet lovers and while walking our dogs, we respect other people's property. Why do some dog walkers feel the need to use those retractable leashes having their dog 15 to 20 feet into your property?

Stay off your phone, enjoy your walk and keep your pet close. It could save his life.

With so many pet owners around, we don't like your dog wandering up to our front door or halfway into our yard. Take it to a park and then let it go 10 to 20 yards in an open field, so my dog looking out the window doesn't want to jump out.
