Sew Generously to host Sew-A-Thon to benefit Mutual Ground Aug. 21-22

Sew Generously in St. Charles will host its annual Sew-A-Thon from 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, to 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, to benefit the Mutual Ground, a women and children's shelter in Aurora.

Quilts made during the event will be provided to women and children in need.

The event will take place at Sew Generously, a Bernina dealer, 3341 W. Main St. in St. Charles. The fundraiser is held in conjunction with Bernina of America, a manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines. For more information, call (630) 444-1504 or stop by the store.

Attendees must bring their own sewing machines, accessories such as scissors and thread and a dish to share with others attending the event.

Sew Generously will give a prize away each hour worth more than $50 and will provide breakfast from Panera at 6 a.m. to all quilters.
