Police searching for missing Antioch Township man

Lake County Sheriff's Police say they are searching for a 39-year-old Antioch Township man who has been reported missing by family members.

James J. Helton was reported missing Aug. 17 from the area of routes 45 and 173 in unincorporated Antioch. Helton has been missing since Aug. 15 and is believed to be on foot in the wooded areas, police said. Helton is reported to have indicated he might harm himself.

He was last seen wearing black and gray checkered pajama pants and a black tank top. Helton has tattoos on his neck (red lips), right arm (Jordan Air symbol), back (words: Jesse James), and chest (word: Caylee).

He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a full beard that is a reddish/brown mix with gray hair on his chin.

If Helton is found, contact 911 immediately and don't approach him, police said.
