Autopsy scheduled today for missing Hoffman Estates man found in Chicago

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning on the body of a Hoffman Estates man who went missing under mysterious circumstances Saturday after attending the Chicago Air and Water Show with family. Power mostly restored in downtown Aurora

An electrical fire in an underground ComEd vault knocked out power to much of downtown Aurora for a few hours last night, officials said. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze that started just after 6 p.m. at Downer and Stolp, said Dan Ferrelli, Aurora's public information officer. Full story.

Woman charged after 2 of 11 dogs left in hot van die

Bail was set at $60,000 yesterday for a Round Lake woman accused of leaving 11 neglected, caged dogs in a hot van at a Palatine auto supply store Sunday. Two of the dogs, an English bulldog and a French bulldog, have since died of heat stroke. Full story.

Calls from 'sheriff's office' are a scam, Lake County authorities warn

Police are warning Lake County residents about a telephone scam in which callers say they're from the Lake County sheriff's office. The calls appear on the caller ID as a telephone number used by the sheriff's office, making appear to be a valid, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Full story.

Naperville men accused of robbing pizza delivery driver

Two men police believed to have robbed a Naperville pizza delivery driver of money and two pizzas have been charged, Naperville police say. The robbery took place at 5:45 p.m. Friday on the 1600 block of Coach Drive. The suspects took the pizza and money and fled, police said. Full story.

Chicago White Sox cut ties with Bonifacio

Reserve outfielder and ace pinch hitter J.B. Shuck came off the disabled list Sunday after being sidelined with a hamstring injury. The Chicago White Sox had to move a player off the 25-man roster to clear a spot for Shuck, and the two obvious choices were rookie outfielder Trayce Thompson and veteran infielder/outfielder Emilio Bonifacio.
