Classical recital scheduled at Mayslake

Area residents can enjoy a classical recital next month featuring vocalist Lisa Griffith, pianist Natasha Mah and the works of Strauss, Rachmaninoff and Poulenc as well as cabaret songs by Bolcom and select Spanish songs.

"Parlor Talk" begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St., Oak Brook. The program is for ages 10 and older, but adults must accompany children younger than 18. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. For information or tickets, call (630) 206-9566.

"Mayslake concerts provide DuPage County residents with the opportunity to experience fine music close to home," said Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Commissioner Jeff Redick, District 2.

"This gives visitors another opportunity and way to experience the beauty of Mayslake," said Joe Cantore, president of Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.
