Preckwinkle fills key administration posts

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has named Sabrina L. Miller director of communications and public affairs in her office, and named Julius E. Rhodes as acting chief of the Bureau of Human Resources.

"Both have deep experience in their chosen fields and are well equipped for the roles they will play as we move forward with our second-term agenda," Preckwinkle said in a news release.

Miller, 47, a Chicago native, South Loop resident and former Tribune reporter, most recently was a communications manager in the office of former Gov. Pat Quinn.

Rhodes, 54, a lifelong resident of Chicago's South Side, for the past 20 years operated the mpr group, a human resources consulting practice that he founded. He has worked for corporations including Sara Lee, Baxter Healthcare, General Electric and Mobil Chemical.
