Open house set for new Advocate Outpatient Center Sept. 19

Elgin, Ill. - An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, at the new Advocate Outpatient Center - Huntley.

The outpatient medical facility operated by Advocate Medical Group and Advocate Sherman Hospital opened in June near the intersection of Route 47 and Regency Parkway. It offers primary care, cardiology, physical therapy and community programming.

After the ribbon-cutting, residents will have the opportunity to meet physicians, physical therapists and wellness educators. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon.

Presented in partnership with the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce, attendees can also pick up a "passport" and visit health and wellness stations during the event to be entered into a raffle for Advocate Health Care prize packages.

Those stations will include car seat safety checks, free bicycle helmets and fittings for children and adults, backpack safety tips, blood pressure checks, online heart disease risk assessments, fall risk/balance assessments, and "Ask a Dietitian."

The Regency Square Parkway site serves as a temporary location as planning gets underway on a new, permanent outpatient center at the northwest of the Route 47 and the I-90 interchange. The permanent site will house the same services as the temporary site along with a variety of specialty clinics and other convenient outpatient services.

The new, permanent site is expected to open in early 2017.
