Elderday Center will hold its 10th annual mum, kale, and cabbage sale on Thursday, Sept. 10, through Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The sale will be held on the lawn of Bethany Lutheran Church at 328 W. Wilson St. in Batavia.

The mum colors available will be gold, red, yellow, orange, purple, lavender, and white. It will be $10 per plant.

If you would like to guarantee a specific color's availability, you can pre-order your mums by contacting Susan Oppenborn at Elderday Center at (630) 761-9750.

All preorders must be paid in advance by check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) and can be picked up any of the three sale days.

Elderday Center specializes in dementia and age-related illness care. The specialized day program promotes cognitive stimulation and socialization, which can help slow the progression of dementia, minimize depression, and increase the overall quality of life.

As the only community-based, nonprofit adult day program in the Tri-Cities, Elderday Center uses evidenced-based techniques to engage senior citizens affected with these diagnoses.

The Elderday Center program offers a variety of services and activities in which clients can participate: daily exercise, seated yoga, field trips, intergenerational activities, games, crafts, special entertainment, discussions of current events, music and pet therapy, a hot lunch and two nutritious snacks, daily nurse monitoring and professional case management.

Elderday Center staff is committed to providing the highest quality of care for each and every senior in the program. The intention is to make a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of life for both clients and their caregivers every day.

If you know a senior citizen suffering from dementia, Alzheimer's, depression, or isolation and think Elderday Center might be a good fit, call (630) 761-9750 or visit www.elderdaycenter.org. Follow the center on Facebook.
