Former St. Colette, St. Cecilia pastor dies

The Rev. Raymond Jerome Gerrity, who served briefly at St. Colette Catholic Church in Rolling Meadows and St. Cecilia in Mount Prospect, has died at age 95, the Chicago Archdiocese is reporting.

Gerrity, who was pastor emeritus at St. Agnes Parish in Chicago Heights when he died Aug. 6, served as assistant pastor at St. Colette in 1966-67, and at St. Cecilia in 1977-78.

Visitation for Fr. Gerrity will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at St. Cletus Parish, 600 W. 55th Street in La Grange. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Most Rev. Raymond Goedert, Retired Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, will be the main celebrant and Fr. John Cusick will be the homilist. Fr. Gerrity will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
