One injured in Hainesville accident
One person was injured in a head-on crash on Route 120 in Hainesville, authorities said Tuesday.
A mid-sized passenger car and a pickup truck were heading in opposite directions near Deer Point Drive about 9:14 a.m. when one vehicle drifted over the centerline, said Shift Commander Bill Rohrs of the Round Lake Area Fire Protection District.
Rescuers were called to the scene and transported one driver to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Rohrs said.
The second driver refused transport, he said.
The cause of the accident is unknown and is being investigated by the Grayslake Police Department, Rohrs said. Grayslake Police were unavailable for comment Tuesday.
The accident closed a portion of the road and caused traffic backups as emergency crews worked the scene.
