Lance Lipinsky & The Lovers to Perform in Palatine

Lance Lipinsky & The Lovers, combining several influences of early Rock & Roll, classic Honky Tonk Country, Chicago Rhythm & Blues and 1960's pop, will perform a free Sounds of Summer Main Stage Concert in Palatine on Friday, August 14. The concert will be held at Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road, Palatine.

Showcasing driving Jerry Lee Lewis style piano rhythms and Elvis inspired swagger in his original music, Lance is a modern day evolution. His original music is a continuation, almost like a sequel of an era. Many would label it as "oldies" or "nostalgia" but artists like Lance in the Roots music movement, remind us that it is still an existing STYLE, rather than a mere trend or phase from the past. He is hard at work recording this first album with his newly formed band the Lovers. Some of the album was recorded in Chicago at Hi Style Studios.

The Lovers were formed in 2012 in Chicago and are made up of John Perrin on drums, Zach Lentino on bass, Nate Adams on guitar, Jess Lyons and Darcy Jo Wood and backup vocals.

Since 2010 Lance has starred in the Chicago production of the hit Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet. With over 1700 performances under his belt, Lance has called Chicago his home for the past three and a half years and can be seen nightly in this exciting show about the true story of Sun Records.

Food Trucks will drive into Palatine the evening of the concert for the 2nd annual Palatine Park District Food Truck Frenzy. The trucks will be parked in the Family Aquatic Center parking lot next door to the Amphitheater at 340 E. Palatine Road, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. In addition to a wide variety of food options, the event will include free parking, free raffles, and free giveaways. Food trucks scheduled to appear include Babycakes Gourmet Pancakes, Best Truckin' BBQ, Chicago Pizza Boss, Flirty Cupcakes, Grill Chasers, Mario's Cart, and Toasty Cheese.

The concert is the final of 19 scheduled performances during the 28th year of Palatine Park District's Sounds of Summer free concert series. During Sounds of Summer concerts concessions are open at the Poolside Café until 9:00pm and restroom facilities are available. The weather hotline is 847-705-5123, x431.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks and recreation facilities and activities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors of the Palatine Park District.
