Governor reappoints Huntley man to state health board

A Hoffman Estates health inspector has been reappointed by Gov. Bruce Rauner to another term on the State Board of Health.

David Banaszynski of Huntley inspects child care centers, tanning parlors and other facilities as a health officer for Hoffman Estates. He also responds to other complaints like radon and West Nile virus.

The State Board of Health advises the Illinois Department of Public Health, an agency that had a big hand in trying to control the suburban measles outbreak this year.

Banaszynski was first appointed to the post in 2012 by former Gov. Pat Quinn. The spot comes with a $150 per diem that can't exceed $10,000 per year.
