Let It Be Us Inaugural Golf Outing Sept. 14

BARRINGTON, Ill. (July 23, 2015) - Let It Be Us hosts its Inaugural Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 14, at Hawthorne Woods Country Club, featuring a dinner address by Connie Going, social worker, foster care and adoption advocate, and mother of four.

Sponsored by Let It Be Us (www.letitbeus.org), a 501c3 not for profit dedicated to assisting children in foster care, the golf event includes a full day of golf and dinner for $250 per golfer. Dinner tickets are also available for $100. All funds benefit children and young adults in the Illinois foster care system. Emceeing the event is WGN-TV's Nancy Loo.

Going garnered national attention as the case worker of Davion Only, who in 2013, publically asked his church congregation for a family to adopt him. His plea was covered extensively via local and national media and after two failed placements, Going formally adopted him into her family of five. Since then, Going has dedicated herself to the care and adoption of teens within the foster system.

Hawthorne Woods Country Club is located at 1 Tournament Drive North, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.

"We have built a strong and innovative bridge between the children available for adoption through the State of Illinois and potential adoptive parents," said Susan McConnell, founder of Let It Be Us. "We look forward to increasing the awareness of children who need homes and show how Illinois residents can easily adopt or connect themselves to children living in foster care."
