Warrenville preparing to celebrate Summer Daze

Sure, there are all sorts of back-to-school sales in area stores.

And, yes, the sun seems to be sinking a little bit earlier each day.

But summer isn't over yet, and Warrenville plans to make that perfectly clear with its Summer Daze celebration that runs from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday at Butterfield and Batavia roads.

The 38th annual celebration is a joint project of the park district, city and Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free and visitors will find plenty of food, music, games, contests, rides and, on Saturday, a classic car show.

Several bands are scheduled to perform on opening night, including headliners American English at 9:30 p.m.
