Streamwood Woman's Club awards scholarship

Every year, the Streamwood Woman's Club awards a scholarship to a graduating senior who resides in Streamwood.

Applicants must submit their applications by a due date, specify their college and have three letters of recommendations. Applicants are ranked upon: essay response, employment while going to school, extracurricular activities, special achievements and, most importantly, community involvement.

Based upon academic achievements, written essay response and work in the community, the scholarship committee granted this year's award to Garrett Brown, son of Susan and Wade Brown.

His planned major is education, with a minor in computer science. His plan after college graduation is to pursue his dream of teaching.
