Lightning strikes Wayne home, $125,000 in damage
The Bartlett Fire Department responded to a call late Sunday night after a single family home in Wayne was struck by lightning.
A resident of a home on the 4N400 block of Mountain Ash Drive called 911 at 11:12 p.m. after feeling the house shake, seeing a bright flash and discovering a fire on the roof.
Firefighters extinguished the roof fire and checked the attic for any potential fire spread. The fire was under control by 11:32 p.m., and fire units cleared the scene at 12:54 a.m.
There were no injuries. Property and content damage are estimated at a total of $125,000.
