Car strikes house in Elk Grove Village

A car smashed through a fence, drove through a backyard and struck the rear of a house Tuesday afternoon in Elk Grove Village, though no one was injured, authorities said.
The driver was traveling on the 1000 block of Village Grove Drive when she left the roadway and entered the backyard property about 3 p.m., according to the Elk Grove Fire Department.
The driver was not injured but was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The homeowner was home at the time of the crash but wasn't injured either, authorities said.
The house sustained minimal damage - only some siding came off - and some shrubs in the yard were damaged.
