Schaumburg Library's August programs highlight food

Three fun food programs are coming in August to the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

"Tailgating Party Foods" will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the Rasmussen Room. Chef Michael Maddox will demonstrate ways to spice up tailgating parties.

"Food Lover's Guide to Chicago" will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, in the Rasmussen North Room. Local restaurants, farmers' markets, cooking classes, specialty stores and more will be highlighted by author Jennifer Olvera.

"Crazy Cooking: Recipes So Bad, They're Good!" is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Rasmussen South Room. Vintage cookbook collector and author Amy Alessio will talk about recipes that shouldn't work, but do.
