Congress overly influenced by NRA

Kevin Hoepper's July 16 letter was a reasonable attempt at an outline what is important about gun control legislation. Not to eliminate, but to sanction who is allowed to own them.

He is correct in saying not everyone has the mental capability to be trusted. The statistics stand for themselves. We call ourselves God fearing people. Well, trust me, if God were a person today, saw the murdering of men, women and children by the mentally challenged, self-proclaimed terrorists and those with revenge in their black hearts, he'd be afraid as well.

Congress is much too influenced by NRA and weapons manufacturing lobbyists, who tie their hands with money, which has rendered them spineless to look at this issue objectively. I ask all of you God fearing people, should we hold Congress accountable, or just keep on letting our loved ones, friends, neighbors and citizens be the target of violence from individuals who have no respect for life?
