Prosecutors; Former Barrington man spit on officer

An 18-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning after reportedly resisting and spitting on a police officer after being found trespassing on a family member's property where he was not welcome.

Tyler Bosworth, formerly of Barrington, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, criminal trespass to property, resisting a peace officer and aggravated assault just after midnight Friday on the 400 block of West Russell Street in Barrington.

Barrington Police Chief David Dorn said Bosworth was supposed to have no contact with the homeowner or be on the property, which is his last known address. A neighbor who saw Bosworth and believed he was trying to break in called police, Dorn said.

During his arrest, Bosworth spit on the responding police officer twice, according to prosecutors in court.

Bosworth told the judge during his bond hearing Friday afternoon that he was staying at a friend's house. He was released on a $10,000 I-bond, which requires no upfront payment.

Bosworth's next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21 at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
