Songs of Summer flower show coming to Chicago Botanic Garden

District IX of the Garden Clubs of Illinois will host its Standard Flower Show "Songs of Summer" from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Regenstein Center, Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. Parking is free for garden members and $20 per car for nonmembers. The divisions of competition are: horticulture, design and special exhibits, which include educational items, artistic crafts and photography. A Standard Flower Show is a judged event meant to educate and stimulate interest in horticulture and floral design. District IX is comprised of 64 garden clubs in northern Cook, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties. Visit http://www.districtix-gci.org/.
