Songs of Summer flower show coming to Chicago Botanic Garden

District IX of the Garden Clubs of Illinois will host its Standard Flower Show "Songs of Summer" from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Regenstein Center, Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. Parking is free for garden members and $20 per car for nonmembers. The divisions of competition are: horticulture, design and special exhibits, which include educational items, artistic crafts and photography. A Standard Flower Show is a judged event meant to educate and stimulate interest in horticulture and floral design. District IX is comprised of 64 garden clubs in northern Cook, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties. Visit
