North Chicago Community Days festival runs Friday to Sunday

The 10th North Chicago Community Days, hosted by the city of North Chicago, Foss Park District, and North Chicago School District 187 runs from Friday, July 31 through Sunday, Aug. 2, on the 1700 block of Lewis Avenue. Hours for the free event are: 5 to 9 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Activities include a parade, 5K family fitness run and walk, live music, a Kid Zone, dunk-a-police officer fundraiser, petting zoo, car show, fireworks, family friendly activities and celebrity appearance by Chante' Moore. Community Days kicks off Friday evening with a Uniting for Peace event featuring live music and food vendors. Visit northchicago.org or facebook.com/communitydays.
