Glenbard District 87 parents: Here's your summer reading list

In August, the series will host Carlotta Walls Lanier, author of "A Mighty Long Walk: My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School," at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St., Lombard.

September brings Kelly McGonigal, author of "The Upside of Stress: Why It's Good for You and How to Get Good at It" and "The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why it Matters, and What You Can Do to Get More of It." Returning to GPS is Ken Ginsburg, author of "Raising Kids to Thrive" and "Building Resilience in Children and Teens: Giving Kids Roots and Wings." He will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the College of DuPage, 525 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Laurence Steinberg's "Age of Opportunity: The New Science of Adolescence" is a must read. Steinberg will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the College of DuPage.
