Fideliter Club of Elgin presents donation in honor of late member

The Fideliter Club of Elgin, one of the area's longest established charities founded in 1888, recently awarded Food For Greater Elgin a donation in the amount of $5,000. It was presented in honor of the late Bernice Gromer, who had been a member of the Fideliter Club since 1966.

Through its annual Fideliter Charities Ball and raffle donations, the organization raised funds last year to donated $5,000 each to three local nonprofit organizations: Boys and Girls Club of Elgin, Food for Greater Elgin and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Fideliter Club of Elgin is in the midst of re-branding its image and direction on its new focus of "feeding children in the greater Elgin area."

"In addition to our club's cash donations," said club president Bonnie Henn-Pritchard of Elgin, "our members will volunteer their time each month at one of our designated three nonprofit organizations. These nonprofits are now considered as the club's 'Hunger and Pantry Partners'."

The main objective of the Fideliter Club is to provide monetary assistance to local nonprofits whose primary focus is feeding children in the greater Elgin area.
