Kane County Fair names talent contest winners

The 32nd annual Kane County Fair Talent Contest featured 29 contestants - 11 acts in the junior division and 10 acts in the senior division.

The final round of competition was held July 13, with the contestants also taking the stage at the fair July 18.

The Kane County Fair Talent Contest was a success, and three acts were awarded prizes in two separate divisions.

Winners in the Junior Division were:

• First place - Grace Lenaghan of St. Charles - "Cinderella Medley" vocal solo.

• Second place - Dancers Lily Henson, Faith Petersen and Abby Riemer of Geneva - "American Bandstand" tap dance.

• Third place - Kiersten Larsen of South Elgin -"Let Me Be Your Star" vocal solo.

Winners in the Senior Division were:

• First place - Dancers Frankie Henson, Maeve Krzysiak and Caitlin Mourek of Geneva - "Trouble" tap dance.

• Second place - Emma Pettyjohn of Sugar Grove - "An Malvina" classical guitar.

• Third place - Jessica Blakely of St. Charles - "The Girl in 14G" vocal solo.

Both first-place finishers will perform at this year's Illinois State Fair and will represent Kane County and compete at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Official Talent Contest State Competition in Springfield, Illinois, Jan. 16, 2016.
