Missing Spring Grove man found

A Spring Grove man who had been missing since Friday has been found, thanks to the actions of a good Samaritan, Lake County authorities said.

Donald Ukleja was located about 9:40 p.m. Saturday in Chicago near the Chicago Yacht Club, 400 E. Monroe St., according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

After Ukleja's vehicle ran out of gas, a good Samaritan let Ukleja use his cellular phone so he could call his family. When Ukleja's family received the telephone call, they immediately contacted the Lake County sheriff's office.

The 82-year-old man, who lives on the 38200 block of North First Avenue, was reported missing 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Ukleja was last seen driving a 2007 black Toyota Tacoma to Ringwood to pick up his grandson from work.

Before moving to Spring Grove 10 years ago, Ukleja lived in Bensenville in DuPage County for more than 30 years.
