Community Days a hit in Gurnee

United Way of Lake County and KeyLime Cove wrapped up the Community Days promotional event, which was extended by the resort through June 19, raising $87,320 for community programs, officials said in a news release. United Way received $43,660, the Gurnee Police Department received $21,830, and the Gurnee Fire Department received $21,830 for their community education programs. Since the first Community Days promotion in 2009, more than $432,000 has been raised for local community groups. "We are so pleased to have this partnership with KeyLime Cove," said Kristi Long, president and CEO of United Way of Lake County. "The additional revenue that we receive from the Community Days event allows us to expand our education programs and make a greater impact for more children and families in our community."
