Aug. 7-9: Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show. Friday: Lights and Sirens Procession in Aurora's Downtown. Staging at 5:30 p.m. at North Aurora Police Station, 200 S. Lincolnway St., (Route 31). The parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and will travel a 13-mile route, encompassing the communities of North Aurora, Aurora and Montgomery. Saturday: Emergency vehicle show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at new location in downtown Aurora adjacent to the Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway. Aug. 8 and 9: Cruisin Tigers Indian Uprising, Pheasant Run, St. Charles. One of the largest all Pontiac car clubs in the country's annual show will feature more than 450 Pontiacs from all over the country, including GTOs, Catalinas, Firebirds. On Saturday, there's a cruise for all makes and model classic cars and a free live band in the evening. Food and drinks are available for purchase Saturday and Sunday. Aug. 23: The Geneva Concours d'Elegance will celebrate the Art of the Automobile, featuring automobiles that were orphaned when their manufacturers went out of business, Jaguars and police cars. Also, a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin, featuring race cars built in 1955 or earlier. More than 175 automobiles compete for the coveted "Benz" award. Cars are displayed 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Third Street, in Geneva's downtown business district. This year's benefactor is the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. Sept. 13: 29th annual British Car Festival, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. Participant registration, $20; $25 on day of show until 12:30 p.m. Prizes are awarded. Sponsored by the British Car Union. With more than 500 vehicles, this is one of the largest celebrations of British automotive design and engineering in the United States. In addition to the cars, the festival features a variety of classic car parts vendors, presentations, tech workshops, authentic British food and new car dealers showcasing the latest imports from Great Britain.
