Enjoy delicious food during the Schaumburg Park District's Farm to Fork Festival

Join the Schaumburg Park District at Volkening Heritage Farm for a celebration of fresh, seasonal and regional foods.

The Farm to Fork Festival will feed hungry foodies 5 to 8 p.m., Aug. 22 at Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. The evening will feature some of the area's top chefs who will prepare and serve dishes from locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses.

Farm to Fork Festival will feature Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen, Goose & Fox, Sweet Memories Custom Crepes, Hoosier Mama Pie Company and more. Restaurants will provide various options for patrons to taste.

"This will be a fun event for those interested in unique culinary experiences," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services. "We're looking forward to this becoming an annual event in the Northwest Suburbs that brings the farm to table movement to a wider audience."

Festival goers also will enjoy live music from a string quartet.

Locally made beers and wines will be available.

Participants must be 21 and older with valid ID.

Parking will be available at the Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. A wagon will shuttle guests to Heritage Farm.

Cost is $30. Participants will receive 20 tickets for sampling. Additional tickets will be available for purchase. Registration deadline is Aug. 19.
