Corn Roast event aids Special Olympics

Randy's Vegetable Stand and the Sleepy Hollow Police Department will hold the fifth annual Corn Roast for Special Olympics Sunday, Aug. 16, at Randy's, 15N440 Randall Road in Sleepy Hollow.

Last year's benefit for Special Olympics raised $10,285.

Registration for the car show will be 9 a.m. to noon, followed by voting from noon to 1 p.m. and awards from 2 to 3 p.m. The car show fee is $20, with trophies for five classes, three trophies per class, as well as specialty and Best of Show trophies.

The first 35 cars will be parked on grass, with 36 to 50 parked on blacktop and more than 50 parked on compacted gravel.

In addition to the car show and corn roast, there will be train rides, games, car trivia, police vehicles, face painting, vendors, 50/50 raffle, and raffle tickets for a custom Jeep or Harley-Davidson. Visit randysvegetables.com.
